Laurelhurst Neighborhood Guide and Portland Real Estate Information for Oregon
Part of the southeast section of the city of Portland, Laurelhurst is a mostly residential community that also happens to feature plenty of restaurants, stores and recreational amenities!

Why Laurelhurst?
Curious about how this community came up with its name? Wonder no more:
In 1909, the Laurelhurst Company bought most of what would become this neighborhood and gave it the name “Laurelhurst” after its own name and also another residential area they had developed in Seattle.
Broken down, “laurel” is for some of the shrubs growing at the Seattle development and “hurst” is after an Anglo-Saxon word that means “wood, grove, copse.”
