SW Hills/Residental

SW Hills/Residential Neighborhood Guide for the Portland, Oregon Real Estate Market

The community known as Southwest Hills is actually made up of two neighborhoods: Portland Heights and Council Crest. Specifically, the northwest part of the community is known as Portland Heights while much of the western part is located within unincorporated Multnomah County.

From The History to Modern Day Success of Southwest Hills

The entire community of Southwest Hills was first claimed by John B. Talbot in 1851, making Portland Heights one of the oldest neighborhoods around.

Meanwhile, Council Crest was established shortly before 1898 and got its name from a group of delegates from a Congregational Church council who climbed a 1,073-foot hill and then named it after their experience.

Today, this community is beloved for its amazing views of downtown Portland as well as its easy access to the city. It is also well known for its huge homes that have held their values pretty well throughout the last few years.

These homes represent an array of styles, including Colonial. Interior amenities in these homes may include such desirable features as grand fireplaces, oak floors and spacious kitchens with granite counter tops!

There are also a few condominiums located within Portland Heights – although Council Crest is entirely detailed single-family homes.
